Magnesium Metal & Hydrochloric Acid

A single replacement reaction where a metal replaces hydrogen in an acid.

Magnesiuym Metal + Hydrochloric Acid ---> Magnesium Chloride + Hydrogen

Mg(s) + 2HCl(aq) ---> Mg(Cl)2(aq) + 2H(g)

Once the magnesium metal makes contact with the hydrochloric acid the magnesium reacts with the hydrogen, and releases it as gas into the air.
When the reaction first took place, the metal was visible, and the mixture was sizzling with an expulsion of heat. After the reaction the metal was no longer visible and the solution was no longer warm.

I performed this reaction without any errors.
